About Us
Begun in 2024, Orange County Queer Collective is a queer & trans-led local organization dedicated to building community for LGBTQ+ residents of Orange County, NY through collective art experiences. OCQC incorporated in February 2025 and received its 501(c)(3) nonprofit status in July 2025. We welcome all LGBTQ+ community members and allies to join us in fostering connections and creating space to celebrate our authentic selves.
We continue to grow organically through curated events that center the creation, experience, or discussion of all kinds of art that is accessible to anyone. Think drag/burlesque/ballroom performances, open mics, physical collective art installments, queer and trans-themed book clubs – the sky’s the limit!
Our dream is to secure a physical location to host community events. We want to be the queer and trans living room for Orange County. But until then, we are working with what we have, and we hope to be working with you too! If our message resonates with you, we want you to be a part of what we are creating.
Our Priorities & Values
OCQC’s values are Creativity, Authenticity, Diversity, Community, Respect, and Compassion. And we intend to integrate them into all we do, big or small. Our priorities are fourfold:
